WM Guard compares the installed WordPress version with update information already stored by WordPress and flags a pending core update.

Plugins and themes

Pending plugin and theme updates are also read from WordPress update transients. For plugins, WM Guard can additionally indicate whether affected plugins are active.

No automatic installation

WM Guard does not install updates. The check is intended to make maintenance needs visible and to be reviewed together with backup status and update readiness.
