HTTP Self-Tests: REST, Loopback, and Maintenance Mode

Requests to your own site

With online permission, WM Guard can send HTTP requests to the WordPress installation itself. These include a REST request, a loopback test through admin-ajax.php, and—when maintenance mode is suspected—an anonymous request to the homepage.

No third-party target

These self-tests contact your own web server. They may therefore appear in your hosting access logs.

Caching

Operational self-tests are cached for up to one hour, while the maintenance-mode probe is cached for about 15 minutes.

Without permission, these tests are not performed.
