Privacy: Which Data Stays Local?

Local core

Technical status data, health history, the change log, notification settings, and most check results are collected or stored within your WordPress installation.

No automatic transfer to Witte Marketing

Using WM Guard locally does not automatically transmit the technical status to Witte Marketing. Only explicitly started Witte Marketing functions can send data to the documented endpoints.

Treat external requests separately

WordPress.org checks, DNS queries, self-tests, the wpvulnerability.net lookup, and Witte Marketing services are technically separate operations. The corresponding help articles describe the data transmitted by each one.

Practical tip: If you want to keep use as local as possible, leave optional online diagnostics disabled, do not start the vulnerability lookup, and do not activate Witte Marketing services.
